Krystal is a Detroit-based Black cis-woman artist, activist, mother, and wife committed to promoting business growth while creating economic opportunities within her community.
In addition to Krystal Klir Communications, she is the owner and operator of her family's media companies, HerSheKissis and Klaridy Media, which use positive Black images and videos to elevate the brilliance and beauty of Black people. The enterprises are known for viral social media content, political activism, and work with large companies and organizations such as Sheen, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), and Verizon Wireless.
Krystal entered into the public eye in 2021 as a political newcomer competing for a Detroit city Council seat with her husband Jasahn Larsosa at her side competing in the mayoral primaries. The couple inspired thousands of Detroit families with a message of hope, equity, and generational opportunities through workforce inclusion and economic justice.
Krystal was born and raised in Detroit and educated in Detroit public schools. She earned her criminal justice degree from Eastern Michigan University. She spent much of her career organizing safe play, interactive learning, and treatment-based activities within the juvenile justice system, the church, and Detroit Public Schools Community District. Her experiences inform her understanding of the way business improvement benefits diverse communities and companies with diverse talent improve business.
Krystal has a track record of youth employment and leadership development activities through her family’s project management company, Larsosa Management Services. She is Founding Chair and Executive Director of the newly created Black America Rising, Incorporated, a Michigan nonprofit promoting equity and justice while developing grassroots community leaders in Detroit.
In her spare time, Krystal leads organizing efforts in her neighborhood. When her family bought their home, they knocked every door on the block to introduce themselves and to connect the residents to one another. She also enjoys working out, dancing, and reading. Mostly, she loves camping and traveling the country with her husband, three daughters, and two dogs in their RV. Her daughters—known as the HerSheKissis—are straight-A students and cultural influencers, followed by almost 300k Instagram users as they lift up the brilliance and beauty of Black people, especially girls.
